★ A wonderfu lion's head ★
LESBOS. Mytilene. Circa 521-478 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 10 mm, 2.56 g, 9 h). Head of a roaring lion to right. Rev. Incuse head of a calf to left with rectangular punch behind. Bodenstedt 12. SNG Copenhagen -. SNG von Aulock 1687. Removed from NGC encapsulation 4372864-003, graded Choice AU (Strike 5/5, Surface 4/5). Well centered and with a wonderful lion's head. Small scuffs on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
