Description

Q. Sicinius, 49 BC. Denarius (Silver, 16 mm, 4.01 g, 3 h), military mint moving with Pompey in the East. Q•SICINIVS - III•VIR Diademed head of Apollo to right; below, star. Rev. C•COPONIVS-•PR•S•C Lion's skin draped over club with to left and bow to right. Babelon (Sicinia) 1 and (Coponia) 1. Crawford 444/1a. RBW 1558. Sydenham 939. Nicely toned. Scratches and somewhat rough, otherwise, very fine.

From the Maggiore Collection, formed in the late 1970s to early 2000s.
