ISLAMIC, Persia (Post-Seljuk). Khwarizm Shahs. 'Ala al-Din Muhammad II, AH 596-617 / AD 1200-1220. Dirham (Bronze, 34 mm, 4.36 g), ‘Qarari’ type, (Tirmidh], [AH 617 = 1220/1]. Bow and arrow in the center; around, ‘al-sulṭān / al-aʿẓam / ʿAlā al-Dunyā / wa al-Dīn’ (‘The supreme sultan ʿAla al-Dunya wa al-Din’ in Arabic); above ‘qarārī’ in Arabic referring to the type of the coin; illegible marginal legend. Rev. Continuation of the titles of the ruler within a looped square, ‘Abuʾl-Fatḥ / Muḥammad ibn / al-sulṭān’ (‘Abuʾl-Fath Muhammad, son of the sultan’ in Arabic); illegible marginal legend.
