Inner inscription, ‘lā ilāha illā Allāh Muḥammad rasūl Allāh ʿAlī afḍal al-waṣiyyīn’ (‘There is no deity but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the most excellent of the executors’ in Arabic); outer inscription, mint and date formula. Rev. Inner inscription, ‘al-Muʿizz li-Dīn Allāh amīr al-muʾminīn’ (‘al-Muʿizz li-Din Allah, the Commander of the Believers’ in Arabic); ‘daʿā al-imām Maʿadd li-tawḥīd al-ilāh al-ṣamad’ (‘Imam Maʿadd summons [everyone] to confirm the oneness of God, the Absolute’ in Arabic).
