Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX, 1282-1328. Hyperpyron (Electrum, 24 mm, 3.99 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, 1294-1320. Bust of Virgin Mary, orans, within city walls furnished with six groups of towers; to left, B ; to right, B. Rev. Christ, flanked by IC - XC, blessing Andronicus II and Michael IX, kneeling to left and right, respectively; to left and right, name of the emperors. SB 2396. An attractive piece with a well struck obverse. Some graffiti, otherwise, good very fine.
