Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX, 1282-1328. Hyperpyron (Electrum, 26 mm, 4.23 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, 1294-1320. Bust of Virgin Mary, orans, within city walls furnished with six groups of towers; to left, C; to right, Δ. Rev. Christ, flanked by IC - XC, blessing Andronicus II and Michael IX, kneeling to left and right, respectively; to left and right, name of the emperors. SB 2396. Nicely toned and struck on a broad flan. A few minor edge cracks and with light graffiti, otherwise, very fine.
