★ Well struck and unusually well preserved for the issue ★

Constantine V Copronymus, with Leo IV, 741-775. Solidus (Gold, 20 mm, 4.39 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, circa 757-775. COҺSTAҺTIҺOS S LЄOҺ O ҺЄOS Crowned equal sized busts of Constantine V, bearded and on the left, and Leo IV, beardless and on the right, facing and wearing chlamys; between their heads, cross and pellet. Rev. C LЄOҺ P A MЧ L Crowned bust of Leo III facing, wearing loros and holding cross potent on base in his right hand. DOC 2d. SB 1551. A beautiful piece, well struck and unusually well preserved for the issue. Struck from very slightly worn dies and with light nicks on the reverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
