MYSIA. Hadrianotherae. Caracalla, 198-217. Triassarion (Bronze, 26 mm, 11.54 g, 12 h), Moschianos, strategos. AY KAI M AY ANTΩNЄINOC Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla to right, seen from behind; to right, countermark: laureate head of emperor to right within oval incuse. Rev. CTP MOCXIANOY AΔPIANOΘЄPI/T-ΩN Dionysos standing front, head to left, holding kantharos in his right hand and thyrsos in his left; at his feet to left, panther seated left, head to right. Plankenhorn, Mysien, p. 64, 12 ( this coin, but countermark misdescribed). SNG Paris -. Von Fritze 581. For countermark, Howgego 69. Very rare. Minor smoothing and with light weakness on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
