LOCAL ISSUES, Chaganiyan. Late 6th-7th centuries. Drachm (Silver, 24 mm, 2.52 g, 9 h). Crowned and draped Sasanian-style bust to right, resembling Khosrau I; in the margin, three(?) countermarks depicting male heads to right and one countermark with the legend ‘σαÞρο χ[οα]δηο’ (‘Sashro-Xwadēw’ or ‘Lord Sashro’ in Bactrian). Rev. Fire altar with ribbons, flanked by two attendants; illegible legends. Rtveladze 45. Zeno-199515 ( this coin ) . Areas of weakness, otherwise, very fine.
