ISLANDS OFF IONIA, Chios. Circa 435-425 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 15 mm, 7.79 g). Sphinx with curved wings seated to left; to left, grape bunch above amphora; all set on circular convex field. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Baldwin 41. Mavrogordato 26. SNG Lockett 2858. Beautiful old cabinet toning. Good very fine.
