★ A very rare hemihekte from Kyzikos ★

MYSIA. Kyzikos. 5th-4th centuries BC. Hemihekte – 1/12 Stater (Electrum, 7 mm, 1.32 g, 1 h). Perseus, nude but for cloak tied around neck, kneeling to right, head turned to left, holding harpa in his right hand and head of the Medusa in his left; below, tunny to right. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Hurter & Liewald 162. Von Fritze I 162 var. (differing denominations). Very rare and unusually complete. Minor edge cracks, otherwise, very fine.
