LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 330-290 BC. Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.54 g, 12 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. META Ear of barley with leaf to left; to left above leaf, Artemis hurrying right, holding long torch; below leaf, ΛY. HN Italy 1590. Johnston Class C, 7.8. Harshly cleaned and the obverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
