LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 340-330 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.78 g, 6 h). AMI Bearded head of Leukippos to right, wearing Corinthian helmet. Rev. [META] Barley ear with leaf to right; above leaf, thunderbolt. HN Italy 1577. Johnston Class B, 4.3 ( same dies ). SNG Copenhagen 1214. Beautifully toned, lustrous and with a head of Leukippos of particularly fine style. Very thin flan crack and the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good extremely fine.
