Facing bust turned slightly to left with two confronted angels above, each holding a wreath; mint and date formula below. Rev. The Kalima followed by the name and title of the ʿAbbasid caliph al-Nasir li-din Allah (AH 575-622 / AD 1180-1225) and the heir to the caliphate ‘Uddat al-Dunya wa al-Din Abu Nasr Muhammad in five lines; the name and title of Nasir al-Din Mahmud and his Ayyubid overlord al-Kamil around. Album 1870.1. Rare and unusually attractive, with a well struck and beautifully designed obverse. Minor areas of weakness and slightly rough, otherwise, good very fine.
