Fals (Bronze, 26 mm, 3.21 g, 3 h), Bukhara, AH 407 = 1016. ‘lā ilāha illā / Allāh waḥdahū / lā sharīka lahū’ (‘There is no deity but Allah, the One, there is no partner to Him’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘bism Allāh ḍuriba hādhā al-fals bi Bukhārā sana sabʿ wa arbaʿa miʾa’ (‘In the name of Allah. This fals was struck in Bukhara in the year 407’ in Arabic). Rev. ‘Muḥammad / rasūl Allāh / Sayf al-Dawla / Jaghrī-Tikīn’ (‘Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Sayf al-Dawla Chaghri-Tegin’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘mimmā amara bihī al-amīr al-sayyid al-Ḥusayn ibn Manṣūr ayyadahū Allāh’ (‘From that ordered by the Amir and the Lord, Husayn ibn Mansur.
