ISLAMIC, 'Abbasid Caliphate. Al-Mu'tamid, AH 256-279 / AD 870-892. Dinar (Gold, 26 mm, 3.13 g, 7 h), citing the Abbasid caliph al-Mu'tamid 'ala Allah, the heir apparent al-Mufawwid 'ala Allah and the caliph's brother Ahmad ibn al-Muwaffaq billah, al-Rafiqa, AH 272 = AD 885/6. Bernardi 181Hn. A very attractive example struck on a particularly broad flan. Slightly clipped and with a few light marks, otherwise, good extremely fine.
