ISLAMIC, 'Abbasid Caliphate. temp. Al-Rashid, AH 170-193 / AD 786-809. Dirham (Silver, 26 mm, 2.95 g, 3 h), citing the heir apparent Muhammad al-Amin as 'ibn Amir al-Mu'minin' ('son of the Commander of the Faithful' in Kufic) and the vizier Ja'far ibn Yahya al-Barmaki, Madinat al-Salam, AH 180 = AD 796/7. SICA IV, 1669. Struck from a slightly corroded reverse die and with faint scratches, otherwise, about extremely fine.
