ISLAMIC, 'Abbasid Caliphate. temp. Al-Rashid, AH 170-193 / AD 786-809. Dirham (Silver, 24 mm, 2.84 g, 4 h), citing the heir apparent Muhammad al-Amin as 'ibn Amir al-Mu'minin' ('son of the Commander of the Faithful' in Kufic) and the vizier Ja'far ibn Yahya al-Barmaki, Madinat al-Salam, AH 179 = AH 795/6. SICA III, 1664. Struck from a slightly worn obverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
