ISLAMIC, 'Abbasid Caliphate. temp. Al-Mansur, AH 136-158 / AD 754-775. Fals (Bronze, 22 mm, 2.20 g, 12 h), citing the heir apparent and future caliph al-Mahdi as 'Muhammad' (in Kufic), Nishapur, AH 147 = AD 764/5. In the upper field, countermark of 'Lillah' ('for God' in Kufic). Album 331. Extremely rare. Minor corrosion, otherwise, about very fine.
