Description

★ An attractive imitation of charming style ★

UNCERTAIN GERMANIC TRIBES, Pseudo-Imperial coinage. Early 3rd to mid 4th centuries. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 2.83 g, 6 h), imitating Septimius Severus (193-211). IMP SEVER PERT AVG IMP VII L Laureate head of Septimius Severus to right. Rev. AVG P M A P I (?) Male figure, nude, standing front, head to right, holding scepter in his left hand and serpent in his right; behind to left, large globe. A very attractive piece of particularly charming style with a curious reverse. Very fine.
