Akakios, city prefect (eparch) of Constantinopolis, circa 6th century. Weight of 1 Tremissis (Glass, 17 mm, 1.37 g). Cruciform monogram AKAKIOV. Rev. Blank. Entwistle/Meek, Early Byzantine Glass Weights: Aspects of Function, Chronology and Composition, p. 4 and fig. 4c. Some corrosion, otherwise, very fine.
