Licinius II, Caesar, 317-324. Follis (Bronze, 21 mm, 3.76 g, 12 h), Alexandria, 317. VAL CONSTANTINVS LICINIVS N CAES Laureate head of Licinius II to right. Rev. IOVI CONSER-VATORI CAESS / K - (wreath) / X / B / ALE Jupiter standing front, head to left, holding Victory on globe in his right hand and long scepter in his left; at his feet, eagle standing left, head right, holding wreath in beak. RIC 21. Extremely rare. Minor smoothing and with light weakness on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

After the reconciliation between Constantine I and Licinius I at Serdica on 1 March 317, Licinius Caesar, only 20 months old at the time, was given the praenomen Constantinus, as a way to further consolidate the alliance.
