Constantine II, as Caesar, 316-337. Follis (Bronze, 19 mm, 3.00 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, 328. CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C Laureate and cuirassed bust of Constantine II to right. Rev. PROVIDEN-TIAE CAESS / CONS Campgate with two turrets and no doors; above, star; in field to left, Γ. RIC 27. Minor smoothing and with a few light cleaning scratches, otherwise, very fine.
From the collection of Dr. L. Ramskold, formed since 1969.
RIC VII puts this 'PROVIDENTIAE CAESS' type for the two Caesars in the second 4-type emission. However, as pointed out by Speck & Huston (1992), it belongs in the emission with 'CONSTANTINIANA DAFNE' for Constantine I.
