Description

★ The only one in private hands ★

Crispus, Caesar, 316-326. Follis (Bronze, 20 mm, 3.22 g, 6 h), Rome, circa 320. CRISPVS NOB CAES Laureate and cuirassed bust of Crispus to left, seen from behind, holding spear in his right hand and shield with his left. Rev. VOT X / ET XV F / R ЄΡⲰC S in three lines within wreath. RIC 204. Extremely rare, one of three known from officina S and the only one in private hands. Somewhat rough and with a flan crack, otherwise, very fine.

The coins for Crispus with this reverse type are exceedingly rare, with a total of six examples known, of which two are in private hands.
