Theodosius II, 402-450. Solidus (Gold, 20 mm, 4.45 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, 408-420. D N THEODO-SIVS P F AVG Helmeted, pearl-diademed and cuirassed bust of Theodosius II facing, his head turned slightly to right, holding spear over his shoulder in his right hand and with a shield, decorated with a horseman spearing fallen enemy, on his left shoulder. Rev. CONCORDI-A AVGG Є / CONOB Constantinopolis, helmeted and head to right, seated facing on throne, holding scepter in her right hand and Victory on globe in her left and placing her right foot on a prow; in field to left, star. Depeyrot 73/2. RIC 202. A very attractive and lustrous example. A few minor die breaks and very light doubling on the obverse, otherwise, virtually as struck.
