Carausius, Romano-British Emperor, 286-293. Antoninianus (Bronze, 23 mm, 4.53 g, 6 h), uncertain mint (Camulodunum?), 292-293. [IM]P C CARAVSIVS P F AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Carausius to right. Rev. PAX AVG / S - P Pax standing front, head to left, holding olive branch in her right hand and long transverse scepter in her left. Cohen 215. RIC 484. Webb 540. A lovely coin with a splendid, sharply struck portrait. Very minor flatness on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
