Hadrian, 117-138. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.30 g, 6 h), uncertain mint in the East, circa 124-127. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS Laureate and cuirassed bust of Hadrian to right. Rev. COS III Galley sailing right, with six rowers and a standing figure at prow. BMC -. RIC pl. 50, 3001 ( this coin ). Strack 17 var. Extremely rare. A well struck and very attractive piece. Minor deposits and with a few faint scratches, otherwise, about extremely fine.
