Description

EGYPT. Alexandria. Hadrian, 117-138. Tetradrachm (Billon, 26 mm, 13.04 g, 12 h), RY 9 = 124/5. ΑΥΤ ΚΑI ΤΡΑΙ ΑΔΡΙΑ CЄΒ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Hadrian to right, seen from behind. Rev. ΕΤ ΕΝΑΤ Nilus reclining left, holding reed in his right hand and cornucopiae in his left; below, crocodile to right. Dattari (Savio) 1433 = RPC III online 5511.7( this coin ). Emmett 876.9. K&G 32.309. Extremely rare for this regnal year. Slightly rough and with minor flan faults on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
