THRACE. Philippopolis. Hadrian, 117-138. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 32 mm, 25.47 g, 6 h). ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΟϹ Laureate and draped bust of Hadrian to right, seen from behind. Rev. ΦIΛΙΠΠOΠOΛEITΩN City-goddess standing front, head to left, holding patera in her right hand and grain ears and poppy in her left; to left, river god Hebrus reclining right, resting right on urn and holding reed in his left hand. RPC III online 746.7 ( this coin ). Varbanov IV.4.2.1.2.1. ( this coin ). Very rare. Somewhat smoothed and with light pitting, otherwise, very fine.
