EGYPT. Alexandria. Severus Alexander, 222-235. Tetradrachm (Billon, 23 mm, 13.33 g, 12 h), RY 1 = 222. Α ΚΑΙ ΜΑΡ ΑΥΡ ϹЄΥΗΡ ΑΛЄΞΑΝΔΡΟϹ ЄΥϹЄΒ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Elagabalus to right, seen from behind. Rev. L A Tyche reclining left on lectisternum, holding rudder with her right hand and propping her head on her left. Dattari (Savio) 4381. Emmett 3140.1. K&G 62.22. RPC VI online 10235. Rare. Struck slightly off center and with a flan crack, otherwise, nearly very fine.

From the Sam 'Duck' Reed Collection, privately acquired in the late 1980s or early 1990s.
