BITHYNIA. Nicaea. Vespasian, 69-79. Assarion (Bronze, 22 mm, 6.35 g, 7 h), Marcus Plancius Varus, proconsul. ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑΤΟΡΙ ΚΑΙΣΑΡΙ ΣΕ[ΒΑΣΤΩ ΟΥΕΣΠΑΣΙΑΝΩ] ΝΕΙΚΑI Laureate head of Vespasian to right. Rev. ΕΠΙ ΜΑΡΚΟΥ ΠΛΑΝΚΙΟΥ Ο[ΥΑΡΟΥ ΑΝΘΥΠΑΤΟΥ] Panther seated to left, resting left forepaw on cantharus. RG 49. RPC II 629. SNG Copenhagen 471. Some deposits, otherwise, nearly very fine.

From an American collection and that of Prof. Clive Foss, formed from the 1950s through 1980s (with collector's ticket).
