HUNNIC TRIBES, Alchon Huns. Uncertain king, circa 6th century. AE (Bronze, 13 mm, 0.92 g, 5 h). Bare-headed bust with a somewhat elongated skull to right, wearing necklace with two ribbons attached to it; before, αλxaν ('Alchan' in Bactrian). Rev. Male bust to right, wearing headdress and necklace with two ribbons attached to it; before, illegible legend in Bactrian. Göbl 74. Vondrovec, Type 74. An unusually attractive example. Struck from a worn reverse die and with light deposits, otherwise, very fine.
