Draped bust of Bahram V to right, wearing elaborate crown; to left and right, ‘mzdysn bgy ˗ wlhlʾn MLKAn M[LKA]’, i.e. ‘mazdēsn bay Wahrām šāhān šāh’ (‘The Mazda-worshipping Lord, Bahram, King of Kings’ in Pahlavi). Rev. Fire altar with ribbons, flanked by two attendants; head of Bahram V on the shaft; deteriorated Pahlavi legend to left; to right, ‘ld’ (‘Ray’ in Pahlavi). Göbl type I/2. SNS III/1, type Ia/2. Struck from somewhat worn dies, otherwise, extremely fine.
