LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 330-290 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 19 mm, 7.86 g, 6 h), Ly..., magistrate. Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley with leaf to left; to left above leaf, griffin springing right; below leaf, ΛY. HN Italy 1589. Johnston Class C, 6.13. Fresh and with a lovely head of Demeter. About extremely fine.
