Maximianus, first reign, 286-305. Antoninianus (Silvered bronze, 22 mm, 3.99 g, 6 h), Lugdunum, 287-289. IMP C MAXIMIANVS P F AVG Radiate, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Maximianus to right. Rev. VIRTVTI AVGG Hercules standing right, strangling the Nemean lion; behind his right leg, transverse club. Bastien 215. Cohen 651. RIC 454. Slightly rough and with a thin flan crack, otherwise, extremely fine.

From the Agricola Collection, privately acquired from W. Henning in August 1982 (with collector's ticket).
