KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 19 mm, 8.62 g, 12 h), Pella, struck under Philip II or Alexander III, circa 340/36-328. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠOY Charioteer driving biga to right, holding goad in his right hand and reins in his left; below the horses, thunderbolt. Le Rider pl. 56, 107 (D52/R83). Fresh, lustrous and struck on a broad flan. Very light doubling and a few tiny marks on the obverse, otherwise, virtually as struck.
