ISLAMIC, 'Abbasid Caliphate. temp. Al-Mansur, AH 136-158 / AD 754-775. Fals (Bronze, 23 mm, 3.90 g, 8 h), Junday Sabur, AH 151 = AD 768/9. Rev. Countermark in the field reading: 'Mimma Amara [bihi] / al-Mahdi' ('among the things ordered by al-Mahdi' in Kufic); countermark in the outer margin reading: 'al-Amir al-Mahdi / Akramah Allah' ('the Amir al-Mahdi, may God honor him' in Kufic). Album K327. Very rare. Patina stripped, otherwise, very fine.
