Theodosios, metropolitan bishop of Hierapolis, 9th century. Seal (Lead, 26 mm, 12.44 g, 12 h). Large cruciform monogram ΘЄOTOKЄ BOHΘH; in quadrants, TⲰ - CⲰ / Δ૪-ΛⲰ ('Mother of God, help your servant'). Rev. +ΘЄO/ΔOCIⲰ MH /TPOΠOΛ, I/ЄPAΠ' in four lines. Unpublished in the standard references. A well preserved and extremely rare ecclesiastical seal. Edge cracks, otherwise, good very fine.
