Slightly chipped along the edge and with minor porosity and light scratches, otherwise, good very fine.

This extremely rare piece was struck at the beginning of Constantine I's vicennial year, celebrated in Nicomedia in July 325. The type is known for all three Caesars and it has been suggested that the three palm fronds in fact represent the three young princes. However, as is evident from other examples, this is not the case (see lot 2770 above). A similar, extremely rare emission was struck to celebrate Constantine's tricennalia.
