Description

★ Apparently unpublished and of great interest ★

Trebonianus Gallus, 251-253. Antoninianus (Silver, 22 mm, 3.64 g, 1 h), Rome, 251. IMP CAE C VIB TREB GALLVS AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Trebonianus Gallus to right, seen from behind. Rev. PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS Apollo seated left, holding branch in his right hand and resting his left elbow on lyre set on throne. Cohen -. Eauze -. RIC -. Apparently unpublished and of great interest. Slightly rough and with minor areas of weakness, otherwise, good very fine.

This interesting hybrid issue combines an obverse of Trebonianus Gallus with a reverse of Herennius Etruscus (RIC 146) or Hostilianus (RIC 180).
