Description

★ An exceptionally sharp reverse brockage ★

Octavian, 44-27 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.83 g), brockage mint error, uncertain Italian mint, circa 29-27. Incuse of reverse. Rev. IMP - CAESAR Rostral column, ornamented at sides with prows of ships and in front with two anchors, surmounted by statue of Octavian, naked except for cloak, standing front, head to right, holding spear in his right hand and parazonium in his left. Cf. BMC 633, Cohen 124 and RIC 271. An exceptionally sharp reverse brockage. Good extremely fine.
