L. Cornelius Lentulus and C. Claudius Marcellus, 49 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.65 g, 12 h), military mint travelling with Pompey in the East. Triskeles, with winged head of Medusa facing at center; stalk of grain between each leg. Rev. COS / LE NT - MAR Jupiter standing front, head to right, holding thunderbolt in his right hand and eagle in his left. Babelon (Cornelia) 64 and (Claudia) 9. Crawford 445/1b. RBW 1562. Sydenham 1029a. Well centered and attractive. Banker's mark on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
