EGYPT. Alexandria. Hadrian, 117-138. Drachm (Bronze, 35 mm, 26.06 g, 12 h), RY 12 = 127/8. ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΤΡΑΙ ΑΔΡΙΑ CЄΒ Laureate, draped and cuirassed of Hadrian to right. Rev. Iς / L ΔⲰΔЄΚ Nilus reclining left, holding cornucopiae in his right hand and reed in his left; below, hippopotamus to right. Dattari (Savio) 1805. Emmett 1015.12. K&G 32.462. RPC III 5717. Attractive earthen highlights. Edge cracks, otherwise, very fine.

From an American collection, formed before 2005.

The Iς (= 16) on the reverse of this coin likely refers to the ideal level of sixteen cubits for the yearly Nile inundation.
