The Kushano-Sasanians were Sasanian governors, who established a quasi-autonomous reign in the old Kushan provinces of Bactria, Sogdiana, and Gandhara. Their iconography combines traditional Sasanian elements with deities such as Shiva from the Hindu pantheon.
