Description

INDIA, Kushan Empire. Vasudeva I, circa 192-225. 1/4 Dinar (Gold, 13 mm, 2.00 g, 12 h), a Kushano-Sasanian imitation, uncertain mint in Baktria. Vasudeva I standing front, nimbate and head to left, holding trident in his left hand and sacrificing over altar with his right hand; in field to left, trident with ribbons; around, traces of legend. Rev. OHÞO Shiva standing front, holding diadem in his right hand and trident in his left; behind, his companion, the bull Nandi, standing left; to upper left, tamgha. ANS Kushan 1703. Struck from worn dies, otherwise, very fine.
