INDIA, Kushan Empire. Huvishka, circa 151-190. 1/4 Dinar (Gold, 12 mm, 1.77 g, 12 h), a contemporary imitation, uncertain mint. [ÞAONANOÞAO OOηÞKI KOÞANO] ('King of Kings, Huvishka the Kushan' in Bactrian) Half-figure of Huvishka to left, draped and crowned, holding club in his right hand. Rev. MAO (in Bactrian, somewhat blundered) The moon deity Mao standing front, head to left, raising his right hand in salute; to left, tamgha. Cf. ANS Kushan 729 (for prototype as a dinar). Traces of mounting and with light scratches, otherwise, fine.
