★ A fine head of Athena ★
IONIA. Phokaia. Circa 478-387 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 9 mm, 2.54 g). Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with a griffin on the bowl; below, small seal to left. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Bodenstedt 91. SNG Copenhagen 1028. SNG von Aulock 2131. A very well centered example with a fine head of Athena. Light scratches, otherwise, good very fine.
