KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.86 g, 12 h), Kalchedon, circa 260-220. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY - BAΣIΛEΩΣ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; in inner left field, monogram; in exergue, grain ear to left. Nicely toned and struck in high relief. Very light marks and with light doubling on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
