★ A tetradrachm from Olynthos of superb late Classical style ★

MACEDON, Chalkidian League. Circa 432-348 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 14.36 g, 2 h), Olynthos, Aristonos, magistrate, circa 350. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. XAΛ-KIΔ-EΩN / EΠI AΡΙΣΤΩΝΟΣ Kithara with seven strings; all within shallow round incuse. Robinson & Clement Group V, 127 (A79/P109). SNG ANS 496. A very attractive example with a head of Apollo of superb late Classical style. Minor pitting and with a small flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
