★ A very rare tetradrachm of Mostis ★

KINGS OF THRACE. Mostis, circa 139/8-101/0 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 34 mm, 15.86 g, 1 h), RY 38 = 102/1. Diademed and draped bust of Mostis to right. Rev. [Β]ΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΜΟΣΤΙΔΟΣ / ΕΠΙ ΣΑΔΑΛΟΥ / ΕΤΟΥΣ ΛΗ Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right hand and leaning with her left arm on shield decorated with gorgoneion; in inner left field, monogram. HGC 3.2, 1727. Peykov C4500. SNG BM Black Sea 309 var. ( same obverse die, but differing reverse monogram). Very rare. Traces of overstriking and the obverse somewhat weak, otherwise, good very fine.
